Putting Your Camera Into Manual Mode

Manual mode is arguably the most powerful way to use your camera. It gives you full control over which aperture AND which shutter speed you wish to use, giving you control over effects like:

  • Blurred backgrounds - Bokeh.
  • Beautiful landscapes where everything is in sharp focus.
  • Freezing action with pin sharp accuracy.
  • Motion blur.

You will need to watch your ISO setting to make sure that you get the right exposure - some cameras have an automatic ISO setting which will automatically pick the right ISO for your shot.

With manual mode you will have full control of how the camera uses the "exposure triangle". For more about the exposure triangle and how it is essential to photography I suggest you download our free guide "Want to Make Your Photographs The Envy of Your Friends?" Check it out by clicking here
